Garrett Robinson

The everlasting lady of creation
stands in a flowing robe with a naked sword
turning into a plow with its tip to the ground.
Her other hand raises a stem of grain
to express with
at the entrance to Golden Gate Park.
The statue was dedicated to mark
John Muir meeting President Roosevelt.
Through the thick foggy mist of early morning
while sauntering through the fronds and flowers
I notice someone had spray painted the word
"Love" on the statue in the dark night before.
Information may be in what is said,
but meaning is made in the way we say it.
